Jesus Did Not Say

Jesus did not say, “Come on down and get saved.”
Jesus did not say, “Recite the Rosary over-and-over.”
Jesus did not say, “Join the revival meeting and get saved.”
Jesus did not say, “Now speak in tongues as a sign of salvation.”
Jesus did not say, “See all the hell-fire, emotional fear, better get saved.”
Jesus did not say, “Join the Salvation Club, get your trinket and get saved.”
Jesus did not say, “Come to the pot luck dinner, fellowship, fun and get saved.”
Jesus did not say, “Oh, you are already part of the Christian Culture and saved.”
Jesus did not say, “Recite this prayer and believe in your heart and you will be saved.”
Jesus did not say, “Your salvation experience is different than your works, or Christian walk.”
Not Jesus, no Apostles, not any preacher of the 1st New Testament Church said any such things.

Jesus Did Say “Sit Down”

“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, ‘This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.’ “Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Will he not first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace. In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:28-33)

Jesus never said, “Come on down and be saved.”
No emotional revival meeting.
No join this club and be saved.
No coming forward and ask Jesus into your heart.
Only…
Thinking.
Seriousness.
Contemplation.
Seeking out to understand what the cost will be to start building holiness with Jesus.
This is why Jesus said, “Sit down and think if you are really willing to pay the cost to be my disciple.”
Jesus said, “Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost…”

“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it?” (Luke 14:28)

It is no soft thing to run hard after the Living God.
Jesus makes this clear again and again to the point travelers turn back and no longer follow. Naturally, the reason the church will not preach the full message today is that it would loose many a member.

From this time, many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him. “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve. Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. (John 6:66-68)

It is only those few who persevere past the pride, selfishness, religious opinions and sins that will hear Jesus truly speak words of eternal life.
If you gonna find Jesus you are gonna have to get forceful, very forceful indeed!
So stop sitting there reading this and get forceful in your search for God.

From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it. (Matthew 11:12)

Such individuals will forcefully go from being a mere traveler on the narrow road to a full-fledged, bona fide disciple of Jesus.
