Sermon: Most Dangerous Cult

Written by Timothy

Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:11-12)

Why was Sound Doctrine Church labeled a “cult” and Timothy Williams is constantly slandered as a “cult leader” you might ask? The answer to that is found  in the points below. Note #12.

  1. Because labeling something a cult works flat out works. Like crack-cocaine, the cult-crack-cocaine all who use it get high really fast. In the same way as the crack user needs a new fix fast, the cult-crack-cocaine self-righteous user is constantly seeking a self-righteous fix to get high.
  2. Because lazy individuals do not have to think or themselves be persecuted for righteousness if they label others as a cult.
  3. Because groups and groupies can quickly solidify a following of “discernment” individuals for themselves. “Cult-cocaine” users have their own sub-culture and provide a means to every increasing self-reinforcing self-righteous highs.
  4. Because like crack-cocaine the word “cult” becomes all consuming creating the highs and lows of emotions.
  5. Because like cocaine the word “cult” is the focal point by which all other aspects of life are viewed. The “crack-cult-cocaine” will loose sleep if the addiction is not feed.
  6. Because like crack-cocaine the user views even the smallest of activities and the most innocent of behaviors as a means to feed the “cult” word.
  7. Because those who use the word “cult” can divert attention away from their unrepentant sins addiction to “cult-cocaine.”
  8. Because the word “cult” requires zero hard work while making one feel self-important, self-correct and above all self-righteous.
  9. Because the word “cult” is like crack-cocaine to a slave-Christians – a quick relief from guilt.
  10. Because the evil one can maximize the voices of slander to keep individuals in fear so that they will not live the Truth.
  11. Because the word “cult” can insight governing authorities against those who minds have been destroyed by “crack-cult-cocaine” mixture.
  12. Because I am the real deal and Jesus promises such persecution.  I am a true disciple of Jesus carrying my cross and following hard after Him. If you need proof of whether I belong to Jesus or not, behold,  one of many proofs.
  13. Because as long as the “crack-cult-cocaine” abuser uses the drug they do not have to become clean. The “crack-cult-cocaine” user does not have to face the sobering reality of suffering with Jesus to be rid of their sins. Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin. (1 Peter 4:1)

The Most Dangerous Cult
Preached Year 2004

This is a sarcastic view of the hysteria concerning the word “cult” people throw around.

I did some research lately on cults and I found there is a cult that you need to be aware of. We’re going to go over all the signs and characteristics of a cult because I want you to be on guard for it. This one is really a dangerous cult with worldwide ambitions. They talk about evangelizing the world and changing it to their lifestyle. It’s one of the world’s most dangerous cults. Let’s take a look at the definition of a cult. It’s good to know what we’re looking for and why it is so dangerous.

One of their teachings is aiming for perfection and there’s just no way we can be perfect, but that’s what this cult teaches. It’s way beyond human power. Webster defines cult as a sect or a group of followers. So another term for a cult is a sect. You can use the words interchangeably. Part of the definition of a cult is a devoted attachment or an extravagant aberration for a person or principle. These people we’re talking about really have an exaggerated devotion for the person that they worship. They’ve really gone overboard. They are referred to as a cult. In fact, everyone is talking about this cult. I found about forty-two things to look for and there’s a lot more from their own sources. These are things they have written down and said, so this is not my opinion. These are the things they teach and we need to be on guard for.

Number 1- Everyone you talk to says they are a cult, so it must to be true.

Acts 28:22- But we want to hear what your views are, for we know that people everywhere are talking against this sect.

Everywhere you go if you ask anyone about his or her opinion they’ll say yes, it is a cult or sect, and you need to avoid it. Everywhere you go, no matter who you talk to, they will tell you this is something to be avoided. You don’t want any part of it. This is why I’m giving you this information so you can stay away and avoid this particular group. Look at the scripture again.

Acts 28:22- But we want to hear what your views are, for we know that people everywhere are talking against this sect.

Nobody has anything favorable to say about it. It’s just not something you want to belong to. The reason people say that is because they know they are so dangerous. They are out to get you, brainwash you, and completely change your life. In fact one of their teachers said if you join their group, you’d have to give up everything to even belong. They demand that kind of surrender and that’s just a little radical.

Number 2- Everywhere this cult goes we hear trouble follows. Wherever they are, you know there’s going to be trouble. Everywhere they go people get stirred up. All kinds of divisions and arguments talk place. It’s as if they really thrive on these sorts of things.

Acts 24:5- We have found this man to be a troublemaker, stirring up riots among the Jews all over the world. He is a ringleader of the Nazarene sect.

Wherever they go they stir up riots and trouble. That’s what they’re well known for. If you talk to someone and ask, “Are these a peaceful, loving group that know God’s love?” They say, “Absolutely not. They cause riots and trouble. Stay away from them.”

Acts 17:6- But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some other brothers before the city officials, shouting: “These men who have caused trouble all over the world have now come here.”

These are people you want to run out of your town. Don’t associate with them at all. They are going to come into your town and next thing you know you’ll have a riot on your hands. You’ll have all kinds of trouble taking place and you’re going to know for sure that this thing really is a cult.

Number 3- There’s one central man who stirs up all the trouble. They may trade off a little power here and there, but there is usually one guy who primarily seems to be the focus. It’s like everybody worships him and pays attention to his authority. The poor people just blindly follow him. They are brainwashed.

Acts 24:5- We have found this man to be a troublemaker, stirring up riots among the Jews all over the world. He is a ringleader of the Nazarene sect.

He was a ringleader of a Nazarene cult. This man named Paul was everywhere causing trouble and people followed him blindly. They just obeyed what he said. It goes on to say he even tried to desecrate the temple so we seized him. He went into the temples and ruined worship. He destroyed people’s nice little worship toward God. He really made people’s lives turmoil.

John 7:49- No! But this mob that knows nothing of the lawthere is a curse on them.

People follow them because they’re being brainwashed. There’s a curse, and nobody in their right mind would follow these people. It makes no sense at all to follow someone who would tell you must hate your father or mother. It makes no sense to follow a guy who tells you to drink his blood and eat his flesh if you’re going to be a part of him. These people really demand a radical kind of relationship with God. God would not even teach this. It’s not really love.

Number 4- No regular church has accepted this group. Ask any church if these people are a part of them and they would say, “No way. We have nothing to do with them.”

John 7:48- Has any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in him?

Ask a religious leader or someone who is familiar with cults if this group is a cult. Ask someone who makes a study of cults and they will tell you no one accepts this group. They won’t have anything to do with them. This thing is dangerous. Talk to anyone who is educated, has a Ph. D., or studies cults and they will tell you no one who is educated has anything to do with them.

Number 5- They even get real close to admitting they are a cult. Let’s read what they say.

Acts 24:14- However, I admit that I worship the God of our fathers as a follower of the Way, which they call a sect. I believe everything that agrees with the Law and that is written in the Prophets,

So you see they admit they are in a cult. They get real close to standing up and saying, “I’m in a cult.”

Acts 24:14- …which they call a sect. I believe everything that agrees with the Law and that is written in the Prophets,

They get real close to saying they belong to the Way which is a sect or cult. They are even honest in telling you up front where they are at.

Number 6- The leadership of this cult seems to have too much authority. Listen to what some of these guys say. Ask yourselves if this doesn’t seem a little overboard to you.

2 Corinthians 10:6- And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.

Whoever heard of God giving one man that kind of authority? You don’t want to belong to this kind of group. Once you begin to obey the gospel, if you then disobey, he’s going to punish you. I wonder how he’s going to punish you? He says he will punish anybody who is disobedient. Look at the authority he’s walking with. Nobody has the right to do that. I have my own relationship with God. He has no place or privilege to say those things with me. Look at what else he writes.

1 Corinthians 4:21- What do you prefer? Shall I come to you with a whip, or in love and with a gentle spirit?

Now that’s not very Christ-like. That’s not very loving, not the God that I know. This guy really carries and throws his weight around. You’ll want to avoid him.

Number 7- They all think alike on biblical issues. Someone has got to be brainwashing their minds. You talk to them about any biblical topic and they will all agree. Someone is brainwashing the entire group. I bet they meet in the back room and write down exactly what needs to be said and exactly in the right order.

Acts 4:32- All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had.

This is not a group whose individual opinions are tolerated. You must believe their way or you can’t belong to them. They are one in heart and mind. They are a dangerous group of people where you lose your personality and your individuality.

Number 8- They really put the pressure on for everyone to think alike. There doesn’t seem to be any room for one’s personal opinion. Look at the pressure they put on people, and they even write about it in their own letters.

1 Corinthians 1:10- I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.

There is a lot of pressure put on people for everyone to think exactly alike. Whatever happened to our individual opinions? Everyone has to agree with each other or you can’t be a part of this group. Look at the pressure he puts on. “In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ…” He calls God as his witness, his big boss who wants all of us to agree together. He wants everyone to be perfectly united in mind and thought. Whoever heard of such a thing? Talk to anyone and they’ll tell you there is no way everybody is going to agree on every single point and be perfectly united in mind and thought. Someone has got to be brainwashing people. There must be a boss telling people their opinions are wrong, stupid and they shouldn’t think that way. You want to avoid this cult. They are indeed dangerous.

Philippians 2:1-2- If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.

He’s saying if you have any of the Spirit, all of you must be perfectly united in mind and thought. You must get rid of your own thoughts and opinions. You lose your individuality. Talk to different people and they will say the same thing. Something sinister is going on. Someone is seeking to control people. If you walk into this church it’s really weird, because they all say the same thing. I went there. I asked each person the same question and they all came up with the same answer. I can’t figure it out. I don’t want to lose my opinion and go to that kind of place at all.

Number 9- Don’t give your opinion concerning scripture. If you do voice your opinion about a scripture do you know what the people in this cult do? They just quoted me scripture and told me not to voice my opinion. They said my opinion doesn’t mean anything. They quoted me Proverbs 18:2. They called me a fool. They said a fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinion. I had an honest question, an honest thought, and I came to some conclusions. I know God’s working in my life too. I went to these people and shared what God is doing in my life and they called me a fool and told me not to air my own opinions. I was really insulted and indignant with the way they treated me. That wasn’t love at all to tell me that kind of thing. Everyone has to have his own thoughts and ideas about God.

Number 10- They think they are so right that it gives them the right to cram it down everyone else’s throat. You’ve got to accept what they teach and what they believe immediately. It takes me a little bit of time. Everyone can’t come to agree on these kinds of things all in one moment.

Acts 26:28-29- Then Agrippa said to Paul, “Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?” Paul replied, “Short time or longI pray God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains.”

They really put pressure on people. It’s like, you’ve got to believe today. Give me a little time. It takes time to search out the things of God. I’m not so sure I’m ready for all of this stuff.

Number 11- This cult thinks you’ve got to accept only their message and what they teach. You don’t accept their message, you’re going to hell. Who gives them the right to say that? Do they have a divine connection with God? They think they have all the doctrines correct and everything down pat. I mean, everyone has their differences. Nobody is perfect. We can’t all understand scripture. We have our own ideas. If you don’t accept what they teach, they say you ought to be condemned. Listen to what they say here.

Galatians 1:8- But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!

That’s not a very nice thing to say about people. There are lots of people who are honestly trying to do their best. They are praying, fasting, and searching after God. We all have different cultures and come from different backgrounds. We have different churches we grew up in. We just can’t come to that kind of agreement all at once.

Ephesians 4:5- one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

This cult says there is only one way to believe and you’ve got to believe it today. Not only that but they really challenge sin. They just don’t let God do the convicting. They don’t give people a chance to breathe. They really go for you. Look at some of the things they wrote. These are some of things they go running around saying.

Psalms 141:5- Let a righteous man strike meit is a kindness; let him rebuke meit is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it

I think these guys are a little off. I don’t consider it a kindness for someone to hit me. I think there is something wrong upstairs with these people. Their book says, “Let him rebuke meit is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it.” These are some of the things the guy gets up at a pulpit and teaches. This is what he says we ought to do to each other. He wants everyone to go around with an attitude that says, “Hit me if I’m wrong.” This is crazy! Sin takes time to deal with. We all work at our own pace. He doesn’t know how much I have prayed about a particular area. I know the things God has convicted me of. It just takes it little bit of time. I’m doing the best I can. He wants to walk up and hit me and expects me to say, “Thanks, that was really nice. I’m glad you did that.” When someone rebukes me that’s suppose to be something nice and smooth on my head. These guys are just a little too serious about dealing with sin.

Proverbs 27:17- As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

I had to do a lot of research to come up with this stuff but I really dug. This is really their own information. They really talk about rubbing against each other. They’re not promoting unity. If people start rubbing against each other and rebuking one another on every little thing there will be division all over the place. No wonder they cause riots wherever they go. When they start to “sharpen” people the whole town gets in an uproar about it. This is what they write. I didn’t make this up.

Proverbs 27:17- As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

You will want to stay away from these people. If you go there, let me tell you, they’re going to get you. They’re going to find out about your sin. They are going to tell you about it. I was there five minutes and I left. They were all into challenging me about stuff. They told me I was a fool for airing my opinions. I got out of that place as fast as I could. One thing I know for sure, I’m no fool.

Galatians 2:11- When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly in the wrong.

Galatians 2:14- When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter in front of them all, “You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?

I read in some of the writings from one of their head honchos (he’s dead now) that you’re supposed to go privately to talk to people about sin. First go one on one, then if they don’t listen, bring someone else and then go before the whole church. But this guy didn’t even do it. He wasn’t biblical in the way he challenged sin. They’re so zealous they just ignored what their leader taught.

3 John 1:10- So if I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, gossiping maliciously about us. Not satisfied with that, he refuses to welcome the brothers. He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church.

These guys don’t have any patience at all. There’s just no real love in this group. There’s no giving people room to breathe a little bit and grow. We all make mistakes.

Number 12- They expect you to be at church every time they meet. Do you believe it? This is some kind of heavy law. If you say that you will become one of these Christians, they expect you to be at church. That’s the strangest thing I’ve ever heard. They expect you to be at church every time they meet. It’s just a way to control your life and mind. They just want to take over. If they get you there, they know they can slowly take away your self-respect and self esteem and pretty soon there’s nothing left of you. They’ve got you then. Not only that, but they meet everyday. Then they eat together when they don’t meet together.

Acts 2:46- Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,

These guys have church every single day of the week. That’s a little radical. I really need room for my own family and my own life. If I start meeting everyday, I would be neglecting the things that have to be taken care of like my garden or changing the oil in my car. Every single day these folks meet together. They are a strange group. They seem to enjoy this. I don’t know what’s the matter with them. They are happy about this. I guess I would be happy too if I didn’t have to think and just spend my time at church, protected from the world. If everybody is doing my thinking and some guy came in and said, “Follow what I believe,” I wouldn’t have to think and worry about things myself. I guess I would be happy too.

Hebrews 10:25- Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one anotherand all the more as you see the Day approaching.

So they lay down a heavy law about not giving up meeting together. Then we’re supposed to encourage each other not to give up meeting each other. They don’t give any room if you have to work or have something else to take care of. They’re putting pressure on me to show up.

Number 13- No one has a private life with everyone meeting together like this. Pretty soon with everyone meeting together, you won’t have any area that they don’t know about. They’ll know it all. These guys like to know. They like to know what sins are in your life to deal with. There is nothing that you can hide from them. I’ve even heard they’ll know everything about you and if you trip up a little bit, in a little sin, they’ll know about it before you get home. No doubt there will be somebody there to slap you in the face or to sharpen you when you get home. They don’t even give a guy a chance to repent. This is what they write:

1 John 1:6-7- If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

They say we’ve got to walk in the light with each other just as God is in the light. Now it’s true God knows everything about me, my heart, and my mind. He even knows what’s in my bank account. But that doesn’t mean I tell everyone else. They’re a little radical. I don’t know who wrote this, but they should have gotten him out of the church real fast. To say you’ve got to lay everything out in front of everyone to let everybody to stomp all over you is a bit much. Everyone gossips about you if you trip up a little bit or make a little mistake. Everybody is talking about you all along. Avoid this group. I’m telling you their teachings are extremely radical. I think everyone should have their own private life. People need their own space where they can keep their own secrets. Everyone has skeletons in their closets they don’t want anyone to find out about. You’ve got to keep those hidden. I don’t know who wrote this or where he got his inspiration, but it didn’t come from my God.

Number 14- They are known to break up some nice, lovely families. They talk about love and getting along in peace, but I’ve heard they’ve broken up some families. Some people have really been broken apart. Even their leader, the one who started the whole thing (he’s dead now) said that he came to divide families. They follow a guy like this! Can you believe it? They want my grandmother to hate me and me to hate my grandmother causing division in my family. I can’t believe that people would go for this. Not only is this a cult, but they are pretty open about the whole thing. People still follow. It makes no sense at all. This is what their leader said:

Matthew 10:34-36- “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn ‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-lawa man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’“

This guy came to tear up families! This is how dangerous this cult is and they are trying to make it worldwide. They want to go in everywhere and tear up. In fact, in another place this guy is quoted as saying…

Luke 12:49- I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!

That’s why he came? And the people are following this guy. When people follow him families are always torn apart. There are all kinds of divisions. If you went to follow this guy you’re going to lose your family, your grandmother, your Christmas presents, and much more!

Number 15- This man named Jesus would not even let one of his followers go bury his father. Can you believe that? I mean he was a good Jewish man. He had grown up loving God all of his life, and he was a good son to his father. He just asked Jesus if he could go back and bury his father and Jesus said, “No.” Whoever heard of such a thing? Even scripture says you should honor your father and mother. I don’t see where this guy gets off saying such a thing. Look at what he said:

Luke 9:59-60- He said to another man, “Follow me.” But the man replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.” Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”

Jesus insulted his father. It doesn’t sound very loving or nice to me. What if your father died and you said to this Paul guy, “I’m going to go back to bury my father.” He says, “Let the dead bury their dead.” He’s not only insulting your father’s funeral but also insinuating that everyone at the funeral is dead. This is a cult to be avoided.

Number 16- I’ve heard this guy Paul say some pretty unloving things. They are not the patient people they claim to be. They talk about this guy who died for them but look at what he writes in his letters. He’s proud of the fact that he wrote it with his own hand. It’s found in 1 Corinthians 16:22.

1 Corinthians 16:22- If anyone does not love the Lorda curse be on him. Come, O Lord!

Now how can that be from God? There’s no way. You don’t want to join this cult. If you trip up a little or leave they will say, “A curse be on you.” My goodness! This guy is really rude, and he does not love at all. Look at what else they say in Mark 8:33.

Mark 8:33- But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter. “Get behind me, Satan!” he said. “You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.”

Even the head leader rebuked Peter and called him Satan. I know one thing for sure, you don’t call someone Satan and say that’s love. I know there’s no way that could be love. Even though they talk about love, let me tell you it’s just a cover up. Once they get you in the cult they start putting curses on you and calling you Satan. Once you are sucked in, start coming to church everyday, give up everything you have, think the same way they do, and get everything in the light, then they will be put curses on you and call you Satan. It’s just not a place you want to be. In fact they will turn you over to Satan in their prayers. Can you imagine that? They get together in a prayer group, speak in tongues, and also turn people over to Satan. I don’t think God’s going to hear that kind of prayer, do you? It’s written right down here in 1 Timothy 1:20

1 Timothy 1:20- Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.

They turned two guys over to Satan, or at least they think they did.

Number 17- When you go to their churchget this, I could not believe thisthey expect you to give over all your property. It becomes community property. You can’t claim anything belongs to you. If somebody wants to borrow something you are just supposed to let them do it.

Acts 4:32- All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had.

I just bought a new car. I worked hard for that car and they wanted me to loan it out to anybody in the church. I’m not supposed to claim it as mine. I pay the bills, I don’t know why I wouldn’t claim it as mine. Then there’s my home. I was supposed to let people spend the night with me. I wasn’t too sure about that. I was just supposed to open up my house to people. Please! This takes some common sense. God surely has common sense and doesn’t expect me to do those kinds of things.

Acts 4:32- All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had.

I went up to these people and put them to the test. I asked someone, “Does that belong to you?” and they replied, “No, it belongs to the whole church.” I wasn’t about to live like that. No way! They get you to join, they own all your things, and then pretty soon you are sucked in and can’t leave.

Number 18- The people who go to this cult even lay their money at the feet of the leadership. Now this is way overboard. There’s just no way. These people sell their land and their homes and lay the money at the feet of the leadership.

Acts 4:34-37- There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need. Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means Son of Encouragement), sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles’ feet.

This is a cult you should avoid. Can you imagine walking into this place? I was amazed. These guys walked up and put money at the feet of the leaders. Let me tell you I was ready to get out of there when the service was over. This looks very much like a cult.

Number 19- In fact this cult has no respect for a buck. They think God will just lay it in your lap. They teach from a book called Matthew that says don’t worry about tomorrow because tomorrow will take care of itself and God will provide. Just seek first the kingdom. Yeah, I know what that means. I have to go to that church, give everything up, walk in the light, be rebuked, be stomped on and give up all my things. I know what they are saying. They just want all my stuff. They just have no respect for a hard-earned dollar. We do have to get along. We do need money, don’t we? Their leaders even say you have to hate money. Hate money! It’s one thing to use it properly, but to hate it makes no sense at all.

Matthew 6:24- No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.

God knows my heart. He knows I love him more than money. I’ve prayed about it and I’ve confessed one or two times that I’ve been a little greedy. But God knows my heart, they don’t. He knows if it came down to it I would give up everything if he asked me to. He knows that. But this stuff about hating money is a little strange.

Number 20- They are even hypocrites. I caught them. I walked into this cult and they talked about hating and despising money, but they are just feeding people and sharing the gospel. They spend a fortune on evangelistic work. They are hypocrites because I’ve heard them speak so much against money yet they will spend a fortune on evangelistic work while that money could have gone to the poor.

John 12:4- But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected, “Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.”

If they really lived what they said the money would be going to the poor. I walked in and observed these guys, and they do not even practice what they preach. They say they don’t care about money but why is all the money going for their big projects instead of to the poor. They are definitely hypocrites.

Number 21- Their teaching is really hard and narrow. In fact, I was offended by what they taught. I just left there really insulted at what they teach and how they make it so hard. They make it impossible. They are hard and legalistic about everything.

John 6:60- On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”

John 6:66- From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.

Luke 13:24- Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.

Galatians 5:11- Brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished.

John 6:61- Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you?”

Number 22- They make their teaching so hard that I left with the thought, “They act like they want me to beat my body.” They expect you to be under a lot of discipline and self-control. Then if you trip up after you have done your best, they are going to be right there to challenge you about it. Their message acts like you have to beat your body. I have never heard such weird stuff. This is what their head guy writes:

1 Corinthians 9:27- No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

I don’t know how he beats his body. I don’t know about this stuff, it sounds really weird. If you don’t agree with them, they don’t want anything to do with you. They act like you are some foreigner or weirdo that doesn’t love God. I tithe, I give, I pray. Just last Christmas I sent some money to the poor. The ski retreat we just had we prayed before we went up on the ski lifts and sought to share Jesus while we were up there. But this guy acts like if I don’t beat my body and accept what he has to teach, then I don’t love God.

2 John 1:9- Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.

This pastor I know is a very humble man and he doesn’t teach exactly what they teach, so this scripture can’t apply to him. I know this guy. I know his life.

2 John 1:9- Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him.

They are telling me that if my teaching doesn’t agree with them they will not accept me into their church. I can’t believe this. Where’s the love? Where’s the grace? How are people going to know about Jesus if you don’t take them into your home? How are you ever going to correct them if you don’t take them in and at least try to just air your opinions about God’s word. Eventually everyone will come to an understanding, but maybe not right away.

1 Corinthians 14:37- If anybody thinks he is a prophet or spiritually gifted, let him acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord’s command. If he ignores this, he himself will be ignored.

That’s why I didn’t stick around because I didn’t agree with everything they were teaching. I knew a month from now they would all be ignoring me. I would walk in and nobody would pay attention to me. There’s no way I am going to stick around and let some guy bring his whip and tell people to ignore me. This is a dangerous cult that you want to avoid. It’s the most dangerous cult there is. Everybody else has found other groups like the Mormons, Moonies, and Hari Krishnas, but let me tell you, these are really the most dangerous people. You will want to stay away from them. I prayed a lot about this, and I did a lot of research. I was out on the streets looking around. God showed me that these are the people you want to stay away from.

Number 23- If you don’t live up to a certain standard, they will not tolerate you and will kick you out. I have never heard such legalistic, unloving, and unkind things in my life. I mean I have my personal relationship with God and they want me to live up to their standards. If I don’t do it they will kick me out. They call that love. You would think they would at least allow someone to stay in the church and hear the messages Sunday after Sunday. I mean it’s God’s job to convict. That’s the only way they will hear the gospel. If you kick people out they will not hear the truth. This makes no sense at all to me.

2 Timothy 3:5- . . .having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

If someone doesn’t live up to their standards, if they don’t do exactly as they do, and yet they claim to be Christians, then we are not supposed to have anything to do with them. I’m not staying with that kind of judgmental group. They think they are the only ones. They judge everybody they meet. Even one of their scriptures says, “Test everything.” They test everybody who comes in to see whether or not they are Christians. I couldn’t believe it. I walked in and said, “I love the Lord,” and they tested me to see whether I did or not. Well I do. I wasn’t going to stay there and let them have nothing to do with me, I’m going to have nothing to do with them.

Another one of their writings is in Ephesians 5:7. You can get their book anywhere you want to. Even some Bible bookstores have it.

Ephesians 5:7- Therefore do not be partners with them.

They want us to avoid certain people. Can you believe that judgmental statement? Look at that, “Don’t be partners with them.” Just because someone doesn’t agree with them or is not up to par with their standards, then they will not have anything to do with that person. Jesus never taught that stuff.

Romans 16:17- I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.

That’s really judging. If someone just puts a little obstacle in your way to keep you from following God, they say you are supposed to keep away from that person. Come on now, there are serious sins such as murder. I can see judging those kinds of people. But just because someone puts a little obstacle in your way, they say you’re supposed to keep away from them. This cult has an exaggerated devotion for God. It has really gone overboard. They have lost their common sense. Of course I can see why. Nobody thinks of themselves and they all say the same things.

Titus 3:10- Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him.

They say if there’s a guy causing trouble in the church then he’s to be warned. I just had some honest questions and voiced my opinion on a few things, and before I knew it there was a guy who came to me and said, “I’m going to warn you once that you better behave.” I couldn’t believe he did that. Then another guy later on warned me again. Who are they to warn me in the first place? I just want an honest discussion. I wasn’t yelling. I wasn’t fighting. All I did was just ask a few basic questions and they are telling me I was trying to be divisive. Then they told me if I wouldn’t repent they would not have anything to do with me. I just left. I wasn’t about to stick around there. In 2 Thessalonians 3:6 they write. They call God as their witness. They are not saying this is their opinion, they are saying this is what God wants them to do.

2 Thessalonians 3:6- In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the teaching you received from us.

Who is he to command me? What gave him that right? If I do not accept what they teach, everyone in this sect is supposed to keep away from me. Now I know that’s not from God. If there’s one thing I know for sure, people are not supposed to judge.

Number 24- They do a lot of judging. I couldn’t believe the statements I heard when I went to this place. If there’s one thing I know for sure and I’ve been a Christian for 20 years, you’re not supposed to judge. Even Jesus said that. Look at what they write:

1 Corinthians 5:11- But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.

They say if someone claims to be a Christian but doesn’t live up to their standards, I am not supposed to eat with that person. Well I’ve had a friend for 25 years and his life isn’t perfect (some of the things they said are probably true) but I’m not going to just stop eating with him. That’s pretty unloving. God has really called me to be in his life, share the gospel with him, and pray for him. He has a good, soft heart. He just has some areas that need to change. I am just going to be there and when he finally wakes up, then God will show him I was right. I am supposed to just love him. They go on to say in their writings that we are supposed to judge people in the church.

1 Corinthians 5:12-13- What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked man from among you.”

They ought to be judging the homosexual people and others who do really bad stuff, but instead they are judging those in the church. “Are you not to judge those inside?” These are the things they teach.

Number 25- I have even heard that one of their leaders thinks he can judge without hearing both sides of the story. I have never heard anything like that in my life. How can somebody judge without hearing both sides of the story or being in the situation? This guy says he can. In fact, he says he can judge everything.

1 Corinthians 5:3- Even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. And I have already passed judgment on the one who did this, just as if I were present.

Look at this! He already passed judgment and he hasn’t even been there or talked to the person. “And I have already passed judgment on the one who did this, just as if I were present.” Is he there in some metaphysical way? I don’t understand what’s going on. How can you judge like that and not be there?

1 Corinthians 2:15- The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man’s judgment:

I even heard that one time there was a group of men on a ship and the sailor of that ship said everything was going to be fine, but Paul said, “No we are going to run into a storm and be destroyed.” He made judgments about things he knew nothing about. He was not a sailor, he was a tentmaker. How can he come off saying the spiritual man makes judgments about all things? Jesus said we are not supposed to judge. Now, I’m not judging Paul, don’t get me wrong. Out of love I’m just repeating the things I’ve heard. I am not really judging because that’s wrong to do. I am just sharing these things just so you know and can be on guard. I’m not condemning him. I know he’s really trying and he has a good heart. I know in his sincerity he’s trying to seek after God but he’s just a little misled. Again, I’m not trying to come down on him, because I know we’re not supposed to judge. I am just sharing this stuff with you so you know.

Number 26- I even heard they killed one of their own church members because they didn’t live up to their standards. I wasn’t there but I heard about it. We all make mistakes, and I’m not going to stand for being struck dead. No telling how it was done. I heard it was the Holy Spirit, but I’ve heard that before. They killed one of their own members and they say they worship a loving God. What kind of loving God would kill his own children? Ananias and Sapphira were just trying to give some money to the church and they say God struck them dead. Come on! That’s not the God I know. The God I know is full of love, mercy, kindness, and gentleness. He would never do that, he’s really patient. But they wrote it down and are proud of the fact. They put it in writing!

Acts 5:5- When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died. And great fear seized all that heard what had happened.

Acts 5:10- At that moment she fell down at his feet and died. Then the young men came in and, finding her dead, carried her out and buried her beside her husband.

Two people died just because they didn’t live up to the standards of this cult. Ananias and Sapphira kept back a little bit of money. I can understand why they kept some when they belong to a group that always talks about hating money. You’re not supposed to worry about tomorrow. Look, everyone has to plan for tomorrow. I’m sure they were just keeping back a little bit for a rainy day. Their book says God struck them dead.

Number 27- This sort of thing can’t be of God. It makes people afraid to join the church. We all know that Jesus came to love us, not to make us afraid. I know, I’ve prayed about this and the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart that I am not supposed to make people afraid of God. That cannot be of God. There’s no way anybody is going to convince me of anything else. I prayed about this and talked to other pastors and they agree with me. No way did Jesus die to make us afraid to join the church. Yet they write it down and are proud of the fact.

Acts 5:13- No one else dared join them, even though they were highly regarded by the people.

I can see why when you have two people being struck dead. I would be afraid to join that church too.

Number 28- If you do not live up to their expectations, they will not let you help out in ministry work. There’s no way I’m going to go to this church to pass out tracts just to have them tell me my heart is not right before God. Who ever heard of knowing someone else’s heart? Only God knows my heart. Nobody else can. Yet if you do not live up to their expectations and rules, they will not even let you mow the church lawn or do any ministry work.

Acts 8:21- You have no part or share in this ministry, because your heart is not right before God.

They wouldn’t even let Simon help out. All he wanted to do was serve. He made a mistake and asked the wrong question. He’s a young Christian and had just been baptized. I read the whole story. Simon had just come to the Lord and he was naïve about things. He offered money to buy the gift of the Holy Spirit and Peter and John rebuked him harshly for it. They didn’t just take him aside and politely say, “Look, that’s not the way it happens,” and explain things to him. No, they said he had no part or share in the ministry and couldn’t even help out because he asked such a question. The guy just didn’t know any better. He was doing his best. Not only that, but Peter said, “Perhaps God will forgive you.” He didn’t even promise that God would forgive him. I don’t want to follow a group that worships that kind of God.

Number 29- The leadership even thinks they know what’s in your heart. Only God knows what is in my heart, and he knows I love him. Even though I can’t live up to their standards, God knows I love him and I have a soft, good heart. I asked God and he told me my heart is good and soft. I don’t have any pride or sin. I really do love him and I’m his child. In fact he answered my prayer just last week and confirmed that. The people in this cult think they know people’s hearts, but only God knows the hearts of people. They are not only going to challenge you, but they are going to tell you what’s in your heart.

Acts 8:21- You have no part or share in this ministry, because your heart is not right before God.

They said Simon’s heart was not right before God. How does he know his heart? Who told him? Only God knows and it’s a personal thing between Simon and God. It’s not like Peter just turned to him and said, “What you said was wrong,” he claims to see Simon’s heart. You know the people who dropped dead that I was telling you about earlier.

Acts 5:3- Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land?

Peter is saying that the Devil filled Ananias’ heart! All over a few bucks. All over the fact that he said he gave all but really kept back part of it. We have all made mistakes. We all sin everyday. We all do! Yet they think they can see what’s in Ananias’ heart. It makes no sense at all.

1 John 2:4- The man who says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Number 30- This cult tries to make other people feel guilty.

Acts 5:28- “We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.”

I went and talked to these Pharisees and they told me how bad the people in this cult treat them. They always make the Pharisees feel guilty and always tell them how they need to change. The Pharisees are religious leaders. They offer the sacrifices and read the law. They know more than the people in this cult who never even went to school. Peter never went to school, he was just a fisherman. Yet I talked to the Pharisees and they said the people in this cult are always trying to make them feel guilty. Everybody gets mad and the cult is happy because of it. I cannot figure it out. Whoever heard of going into a group of people, telling them they are sinners that need to repent, the whole group gets mad and they leave happy. They really enjoy causing trouble.

Number 31- When people get mad they are happy about it. They act as if they are serving God by making people feel guilty. There is one thing I know for sure, it’s God’s job to convict people of sin. Yet they seem to really be happy that people are mad at them.

Acts 5:41- The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.

They walked into a church, told everyone they are sinners and need to repent, they got flogged and left rejoicing. They made everybody mad. I don’t want to be part of that kind of group. Jesus wants us to promote peace, love, kindness, and toleration. God will convict them of sin in due time. In fact their own leader told them to be happy when they cause trouble and people hate them for it. Can you imagine that? People hate me and I’m supposed to be happy about it?

Luke 6:22-23- Blessed are you when men hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their fathers treated the prophets.”

I’m supposed to leave this situation jumping up and down on the sidewalk as I leave? I’m supposed to be happy I made everybody mad while they throw stones at me? I have never heard of such nonsense in my life. I am supposed to be happy when the church kicks me out or when people hate me because I have said mean things to them like, “You have sin in your life and need to repent.” I am supposed to be happy about that? I am supposed to say I am serving God? This cult likes to cause trouble. This sect is something you will want to avoid. In fact one of their main leaders says he’s happy when he’s in these situations. He delights in them. I think he has a mental problem.

2 Corinthians 12:10- That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

This guy has some kind of kinky mental problem. He rejoices in the fact that people insult him.

2 Corinthians 12:10- That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

You can see why there’s so much trouble wherever they go because they like to cause trouble. That’s how they get their kicks. That’s what makes them happy. This is a cult you want to stay away from. They won’t let you just sit in your pew and worship God, and they tell you about every little sin in your life. They are going to say they know God’s heart and the Holy Spirit told them your heart. You will want to stay away from this group. They are the most dangerous cult in the world.

Number 32- If this were not a cult then more people would belong to their church. They are a really small group of people. As it is, they do not have very many people. God just can’t be in such a small church. After all, this is a religious town. We have churches on every corner. If their church is so right, why isn’t anyone else going for their message? If it’s so right how come they just don’t have a lot of numbers? We have a church (an idol) on every corner.

Acts 17:16- While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols.

Acts 17:23- For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Now what you worship as something unknown I am going to proclaim to you.

Acts 17:34- A few men became followers of Paul and believed.

See what I mean? Paul went into a religious town and preached the gospel, but he could only win a few people even in a religious town. Nobody wants to join this sect.

Revelation 3:8 talks about a very small church.

Revelation 3:8-9- I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liarsI will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you.

Do you see how small in number they were? Everyone agrees that God didn’t love him or her because they had such little strength. I don’t know why God said he would make their enemies fall down at their feet and declare that he loved them.

Luke 6:26- Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for that is how their fathers treated the false prophets.

Judges 6:15- “But Lord, “ Gideon asked, “how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.”

Number 33- One of their primary teachers hates women. I went to their church and the women had doily things like little towels on their heads. Jews didn’t hate women! He even taught (you won’t believe this) that women can’t teach men. I’ve never heard such nonsense! According to Jesus we’re a new creation, everything’s equal, and there’s no male or female, yet he won’t let a woman teach from a pulpit. This guy really hates women. If I could get him in touch with inner healing, we could deal with his problem that probably stems back to something that happened with his mother when he was a child. He says it’s not God’s will for women to teach men, and that’s what makes this cult so dangerous. They say everything is God’s will. It’s God’s will that women can’t teach from the pulpit. It’s God’s will that women should wear doily things. He calls them holy something’s on their heads. He even teaches that it is shameful for women to talk in church. It’s shameful for a woman to talk in church? I think he really has a weird mental problem. Look at what he writes.

1 Timothy 2:11-12- A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.

Well la-dee-dah to you! Where does he get off with such authority to make women shut up in church? Can you see the authority this cult carries and how they put people down?

1 Corinthians 14:33-35- For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

This is required in all the congregations that follow the teachings of this sect. Every church he attends, no matter what culture must conform to his standard, his rules, and what he teaches. He says it’s disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church. And like I said, they make the women wear those things on their head to remind them of their submission. It’s not enough that women can’t teach from the pulpit or can’t talk in church. The women are made to wear doilies in church so that everyone knows they are in submission.

1 Corinthians 11:10- For this reason, and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head.

He says women should wear coverings because of the angels. Well I see no angels in their church. I have seen people struck dead. I tell you this cult really goes way out. The woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head. He says every church does this everywhere they go. You’ll know this cult when you walk into it because every woman will have a covering on her head.

Number 34- This church condemns a lot of other churches and groups. In fact they tell others to leave their particular church or religious teaching. I couldn’t believe the amount of things they said were wrong about other churches. It just amazed me. It’s like they are saying they are the only ones who are right. In fact one of their leaders says:

Matthew 15:14- Leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.

I don’t know how these guys could have been blind. They were Pharisees. They knew the law. They taught it. As far as the law, they did everything right.

Number 35- I’ve talked to others who went to their church and they say it’s a cult. I hunted them down and they told me all kinds of horror stories about this place. In fact, I’ve talked to a lot of people who have left their church, not just a few. They even wrote it down.

2 Timothy 4:16- At my first defense, no one came to my support, but everyone deserted me. May it not be held against them.

So I knew when Paul went to court and everyone left him, he couldn’t have been of God. Everybody left him. They didn’t hang around. If it’s the right message, people are going to stay, won’t they?

2 Timothy 1:15- You know that everyone in the province of Asia has deserted me, including Phygelus and Hermogenes.

No wonder people leave! You have to beat your body and make it your slave. You see, the guy wasn’t of God and so everyone deserted him.

Acts 20:29-30- I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.

You get someone to come to your church, right? And they’re brainwashed and they take all their money and they know everything about them. Then they say you’re a savage wolf when you do leave. They say you’ll just spread gossip and lies or talking things out of context. They are just justifying themselves when they say everyone leaves it because of the devil.

3 John 1:10- So if I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, gossiping maliciously about us.

I don’t think he’s gossiping. I think what he says is really true. I sat down and talked with him and everything he says seems so logical and it fits. I’ve seen some of the same stuff too with the harshness, all that love and judgment going around. I don’t think he’s gossiping. I just think he’s trying to warn people. I know his heart. He has a good heart and he’s not condemning. He’s trying to show people so that there can be some changes. It’s not like I’m condemning the whole group.

2 Corinthians 11:26- I have been constantly on the move. I have been … in danger from false brothers.

If you don’t agree with them, they call you a false brother. Somehow, he never had the right message anyway. If you’re not perfectly united with them then you’re a false brother.

Acts 6:13- They produced false witnesses, who testified, “This fellow never stops speaking against this holy place and against the law.

Number 36- These cults always make you earn your way to heaven. It’s one of the marks of a cult. You always have to do something to get to heaven. I mean this cult orders people to be baptized. I’ll read it to you. It’s in their own literature. Cults always make salvation a works program and so require people to do something to prove themselves saved. You’ve got to demonstrate that you really belong to God. It should just be a matter of the heart. We all know grace is free. We all know that Jesus died and we’re his children. No matter what, we do belong to him. And yet the primary signs of a cult is they always make you do something to prove you’re right with the Lord.

Acts 10:47-48- “Can anyone keep these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.” So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days.

Obviously God loved them or they wouldn’t have received the Holy Spirit. They were children of God or they wouldn’t be speaking in tongues and receiving the Spirit, yet he orders them to be baptized as if that was so important. They were already saved and he made this a works program. He made it legalistic. These guys are more Pharisees than anyone I know. People were rejoicing and being happy in the Lord, giving thanks to God for everything, and he made them go get water baptized. I couldn’t believe it. He took away their joy.

Acts 26:20- First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and to the Gentiles also, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds.

You’ve got to demonstrate to these people that you really do belong to God. I cannot believe that kind of judgment! It’s God’s business to judge. Salvation is a matter of grace and free love that Jesus poured out. They want people to prove their repentance. Even James, one of their leaders, says the following:

James 2:14- What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him?

He’s saying you’ve got to do something to be saved. Now that is just totally opposed to the truth.

Number 37- This cult condemned whole churches and groups of people. I mean whole groups. They’ll say a whole church is going to hell! Not only do they judge the hearts of individuals but also then they stand up and condemn a whole group of people. They claim their judgments are from the Holy Spirit. I mean not everyone is going to hell in every church. I know some good Christians. I may not agree with everything that’s preached but I certainly can’t get up and say everyone is going to hell.

Titus 1:12 Even one of their own prophets has said, “Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.”

He called them brutes. One thing I know for sure, God doesn’t name call. This guy is saying he’s a prophet and calling others brutes. I can see God pointing out specific sins but to stand up and name call is not right. The next thing you know they will be calling people vipers, snakes, or whitewashed tombs. Rather than get specific with people’s sins there is a lot of name calling going on. That’s not from the Lord. He says all Cretans do is tell lies, stuff their faces, and lay around. That’s it. He says this testimony is true. He condemns a whole group of people, a whole race of people, a whole city. He says we’re supposed to go in and rebuke them. Well, I guess if you delight in hardships and insults it would be a fun thing to do.

Number 38- None of those in the cult have self-esteem or think well of themselves. That’s the reason everyone is so controlled by this group. I finally nailed it down. I did enough asking and looked at their literature and found out why they’re brainwashed. They have that look in their eyes like they’re being controlled. I prayed about it and sought God on it. I looked and I asked, and now I know what it is. They have no self-esteem. If you talk to any of these people, you’ll find they don’t think well of themselves. Well if you walk around saying that you’re just a dirty old lazy glutton sinner all the time, I guess anyone could control your life. So you just turn your life over to someone and let him control you. I told them God doesn’t make junk. Do you know what they told me? “Yeah, but you wouldn’t make yourself junk.” I’ve never heard that. I’ve got some good areas in my life. Don’t insult me like that. I serve and play with my kids, go to my job. I earn my bucks. I go to work and take care to plan for the future. They sit there and tell that.

2 Corinthians 12:5- I will boast about a man like that, but I will not boast about myself, except about my weaknesses.
