Associations
Welcome to a short take by www.luke1425.org
Because Jesus directs all to “sit down” and consider the cost before following Him.
Warning:
Do not attempt the following unless you are familiar with being dead to self and following the Holy Spirit.
Who are your friends?
Who do you consider a fellow Christian?
Who a Christian associates with can destroy them spiritually.
Fact is many a church is dead spiritually because they will not judge righteously.
Instead of living trees of life in the church there is too much dead wood in Christian churches today.
Paul the Apostle wrote a warning 1 Corinthians,
Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” (1 Corinthians 15:33)
Churches today are weak because of who they allow to call themselves “Christian.”
Again, Paul the Apostle wrote a strong word of instruction in 1 Corinthians 5.
But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.
What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked man from among you.” (1 Corinthians 5:11-13)
Honest Christians are not to eat lunch with dishonest believers. This is what God commands.
Paul wrote in the book of Ephesians not to be partners with anyone who is a hypocritical Christian.
God states a Christian church should not have a
hint of sexual immorality
hint of impurity
hint of greed
Let us read part of Ephesians 5:
But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person–such a man is an idolater–has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them. (Ephesians 5:3-7)
Do not be “deceived” by individuals stating otherwise. Their “empty words” are bringing God’s wrath into their lives and upon their church.
Indeed, “do not be partners with them.” because such individuals have zero inheritance in Jesus.
